imagesI used to spend huge amounts of time feeling guilty and truth be told I still do have bouts of guilt. Like just now for example; I was feeling guilty for 2 reasons – first I did not do nearly enough work today and instead surfed the designer sales and second I ate nearly a whole loaf of walnut bread and a chunk of banana cake just now. So I was sitting with this uneasy feeing in my stomach and I thought I have to shake this off because it is ridiculous. Guilt is about the past and what is done is done (I am talking about silly little things that don’t harm any other person not murder or deliberate injury or something terrible like that) and it is the most pointless emotion when related to things like laziness or gluttony because it gets you nowhere. ┬áThe only solution is to accept it and understand that sometimes you are going to lessen your grip on discipline and that it is not the end of the world. If you are going to be the sort of person you want to be, that other people respect and look up you are going to have to be focussed but every so often you have to relax and take it easy. It can be very good for you to let go every so often and becoming uptight and stressy is not conducive to a fit, beautiful you. What is done is done and holding on to it does not undo it nor does it make up for it. The only way to deal with it is to own it and move on. ┬áToday I ate cake and tomorrow I will have an excellent gym session that tones my butt. Today I did not achieve anything productive workwise, tomorrow I may send one email which takes ten minutes which comes back with a positive response and achieves something great. Life is like the sea, it moves back and forth and you just have to go with it. Feel responsibility toward a kind, fit, thoughtful you but don’t feel guilt because it is simply a waste of enery
